Out with the Old: Replacing a Corroded Copper Water Line Under a Home
Replaced corroded copper pipes under a home with a full repipe, delivering a long-term solution and peace of mind.
Introduction
We recently helped a homeowner who was dealing with a common — but serious — plumbing issue: a heavily corroded copper water line running underneath their home.
Challenge
After inspecting the system, we found that the copper piping in the crawl space was in poor condition, with corrosion throughout. This kind of wear can lead to leaks, water damage, and costly repairs down the road.
Solution
We provided the customer with two options:
Spot Repairs – Address only the visibly damaged sections.
Full Repipe – Replace all copper piping in the crawl space with brand-new copper lines.
The homeowner chose the long-term solution: a full copper repipe. This meant we removed all the old, corroded copper piping and installed a completely new copper water line throughout the crawl space.
Result
This upgrade not only resolved the current issues but also added peace of mind for the future.
If your home has older copper pipes, especially under the house, it might be time to consider a professional inspection. Catching corrosion early can save you from bigger problems down the line!
